We are an unofficial but This Week in Startups supported local meetup group and event organiser. We work to promote local TWiST affiliated meetups for UK Startups. We manage applications, attendees, venues and catering. We are the facilitators of new opportunities for Startups to connect with a global audience through the TWiST Network.
Our events have a particular format that we have honed since 2011. It's fast paced and action packed!
Local Events - our events are first and foremost local gatherings of likeminded startup founders. Typically 100 to 150 people.
Pitch Format - 6 to 10 selected companies take part in a 3 minute pitch and 5 minute Q&A. Pitches are voted on by the local audience based on two criteria - 1) The quality of the Pitch and 2) The Idea or Concept itself.
The top 3 companies go on to connect LIVE on an episode of This Week in Startups with host and renowned angel investor Jason Calacanis, with guests.
